New Home Exterior Paint Colors

The exterior paint colors you choose for your new home can be used to create contrast by choosing light or dark colors that pop or to create a more cohesive look by choosing colors that blend together.

Exterior Paint Options

All homes are priced to include one-tone exterior paint with an option available to upgrade to two-tone exterior paint. The two-tone paint option is priced at $500 and available in all communities.

For a home with very little cement fiber siding, such as homes with only siding at the porch & patio, we recommend that all of the exterior paint be the same color.

If your home has a decorative gable with siding on the front elevation, this is a good opportunity to go with a two-tone design. 

One-Tone Exterior Paint

Let's start by taking a look at an exterior design featuring one-tone, where all the painted surfaces are the same color.

This hill country style home features limestone as the predominant element on the front elevation. A light tan paint color was chosen to coordinate with the brick & stone colors and a complementary garage door color was chosen to complete the look.

Two-Tone Exterior Paint

This home features a brick & stone exterior with two paint colors to enhance the architectural design.

The elevation design for this home includes a layered gable design that incorporates shake siding for emphasis above the entry and a decorative gable vent (sometimes a cedar vent that is stained, not painted).

The two-tone paint design features a warm taupe for the trim & fascia and a lighter shade for the siding & soffit. This color package is designed to complement the clay window color and sandstone garage door.

Two-Tone Exterior Paint with Cedar Accents

This craftsman style home features a two-tone exterior with a warmer tone used for the siding in the gable and a lighter tone used for the fascia. A dark stain was used for the cedar accents to create contrast.

Looking at the entrance, the porch ceiling & soffit are painted the same color as the siding in the gable.

The two-tone gray paint helps create emphasis on architectural details, complements the tones in the brick and adds a little pop of color with the darker blue accent paint for the front door.

This is a great color combination for homes with more stone on the front elevation than brick, which allows the unique blend of stone to take the spotlight. The lighter greige paint ties in nicely with the lighter brick tones.

The brown tone paint for the trim & siding helps pull out the medium tones in the brick to create a cohesive transition between brick & fiber cement siding.

The taupe trim paint complements the almond window color and helps create a broader outline to accentuate the windows.

This tan color kit features a neutral paint that lets the sandstone really pop, while the brown front door & garage door bring a little balance and emphasis to create a rich exterior for your new home.
