Working on your home's curb appeal will help make a lasting impression and will make your home feel welcoming to all who visit.

Whether you've just moved into a new home, are completing spring projects, or you are in the process of selling your home, performing regular maintenance can help keep it look as good as new.

5 quick & easy tips to maximize your curb appeal

  1. Refresh Your Flowerbeds

Adding mulch will not only accent your plants and make your flowers pop, it also protects the soil from the sun and helps maintain moisture. Pull weeds and remove any dead foliage prior to adding mulch. It is also good to trim down shrubs in the spring. This allows them to reach their full growth potential in the growing season. You can also consider adding some colorful accent shrubs, flowers, or trees!

  2. Fertilize & Edge Your Lawn

Omega installs drought-resistance bermuda grass on our properties. Bermuda grass spreads by growing 'runners' that can reach out over curbs and onto sidewalks or driveways. Edging around your yard can remove these runners and instantly boost your curb appeal. Don't forget to fertilize and water that grass for a deep green tint that will last all season long!

  3. Clean Your Porch

For a low budget boost, simply wipe down your door thoroughly, polish the hardware, clean the doorbell, sweep the porch, and clean the threshold. Don't forget to clear any spider webs, wasp nests, or bird nests near the ceiling of your porch. A clean entryway is a welcoming one!

  4. Add Seasonal Decor
This is a great way to add a pop of color & style to your freshly cleaned porch! Consider a seasonal wreath, fresh doormat, rockers/patio furniture, or decorative accents such as colorful pots, signage, or flags (an American flag or smaller garden flag).

  5. Add Outdoor Lighting

Today it is easier than ever to install outdoor lighting with many options in the market. Solar lighting provides an easy and quick DIY addition to your front yard. You can find several styles of solar pathway lighting to line your sidewalk or driveway. There are even solar lights that can be attached to your fence! This is a welcoming addition in the evening and also provides practical usage.
