New Home Brick Colors

Written by Paige Neal | 5/27/21 6:13 PM

Whether you choose a traditional, contemporary, farmhouse or any other home design, brick is a classic and timeless choice for exterior materials.

Brick can be used to create a cohesive blended color scheme or to create contrast that enhances the architecture of each home.

Brick Size

Omega uses King size brick, which is the same height as a standard brick and features a greater overall length. Each brick is designed to optimize coverage and engineered to increase air flow, reduce weight, and make installation easier without compromising integrity.

Brick Types

There are three main brick types: smooth, distressed and painted. Smooth is identified by clean edges and a relatively smooth surface. Distressed has added texture on the surface of the brick with more color variation. Painted can be smooth or distressed but the predominant feature is paint added to the surface.

Mortar

Mortar is the binding paste that is used to fill gaps between bricks and secures them in place, making up 15-20% of the visible surface. While there are many mortar options for brick, gray is the most common and is Omega's exclusive color choice. The neutral color offers a subtle look that blends well with all of our brick selections.

It is important to note that colors can vary between a brick sample and the installed brick. When looking at brick samples the bright clay colored edges are visible. However,  once brick is installed on a home, the mortar is now covering the edges, taking away the bright clay contrast.

Top 5 Brick Choices for New Homes:

Designer Favorite: Whitesboro

Rising in popularity, Whitesboro is a light neutral blend that works well with a range of color families to offer a light & bright exterior, perfect for the farmhouse rustic style.

This home features Whitesboro paired with a light limestone for a subtle soft look.

The bold red paint chosen for the front door adds a little pop of color to tie in the warmer tones in the brick for this craftsman inspired exterior color scheme.

Trending Brick Color : Smokey River

Smokey River is a newer brick color that works beautifully with White Chop limestone to complement this craftsman style. The gray siding paint complements the gray tones in the brick and the Granite Peak accent paint on the front door adds a trendy pop of color that ties in with the blue under tones of the brick.

The white trim balances with the white limestone while offering just enough contrast to accentuate the elevation of the home.
