There are so many amazing places to explore with family and friends in the Temple/Belton area and an all time favorite is Chalk Ridge Falls Park.

As long as you plan accordingly for the weather, this local hiking trail might become one of your favorite destinations to visit throughout the year!

On the outskirts of Stillhouse Hollow Lake, off FM 1670 in Belton, TX, this park offers the perfect amount of outdoors for a weekend hike.

The park is open daily from 8 am to sunset and is free to explore!

The park & trail is along the Lampasas River - where you can do some fishing & kayaking, and even brave a cable bridge. The largest appeal, however, is always the waterfall! This feature provides a shallow swimming pool below and shallow rapids above - and both are great places to hang out. Bring some chairs to sit in the shallow rapids above the falls, or bring some water shoes to enjoy the pool below. Just be aware of your surroundings! This park is home to wildlife such as snakes and other reptiles who enjoy cooling off too. And don't forget to take your trash with you when you exit the park.

These trails provides lots of shade and easy hiking, making this park is a great place to bring family and friends. You can also bring your four legged friends - just remember a leash and some bags to clean up after your pet!
