Many Earth Day activities revolve around taking care of our environment, but equally important is actually spending time outdoors.
One of the greatest gifts we can give our children & grand children is an appreciation for nature and the importance of playing outdoors - to learn more, here are 6 reasons children need to play outside.
3 Ideas to Celebrate Earth Day all year long:
1. Bring a trash bag with you on your next walk to collect trash along the way.
This is a great way to spend time outdoors and make a difference. Grab a trash bag and head out for a walk.
While it might be tempting to start picking up trash immediately, you might try walking a set distance first and picking up trash on your way back - not only will you be able to take time to enjoy being outside, but you won't have to carry the bag as far once it is full!
2. Spend time outside at a community park or playground.
Among the most popular amenities homebuyers ask about are playgrounds, parks & trails. Having these amenities in the community & surrounding areas makes it easier than ever to spend time outside.

3. Bring your own bags to the grocery store.
Reusable bags are a great example of something small you can do to make a big impact. Not only are many reusable bags made out of recycled materials, but they can hold more groceries and are easier to carry.
Plastic bags from the grocery store don't biodegrade, they just break down into smaller and smaller bits that are harmful to the environment, especially ocean life.
